Who Will Be Participating in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019?

This year, 42 countries will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest. Of those, 26 will advance to the finals and compete to become a Eurovision champion. Germany, France, Italy, United Kingdom, and Spain automatically qualify for the final as they’re the five largest financial backers to the European Broadcast Union. Here are the acts confirmed for the competition.

Michael Rice for the United Kingdom

Michael Rice is the winner of the first series of All Together Now, a BBC talent show. He has also appeared on The X Factor.  He will be singing Bigger Than Us.

Bilal Hassani for France

Bilal Hassani will be singing Roi in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019.  He performed a cover of Rise Like a Phoenix on The Voice Kids (France). Hassani won the Destination Eurovision contest of France with the song Roi.

Paenda for Austria

Paenda, Gabriela Horn in real life, will sing Limits.

Miki for Spain

Miki, Miguel Pozo in real life, will represent Spain and sing La Venda. He won in the TV talent competition Operación Triunfo in 2018.

Germany and Italy have not announced their representative yet. The semi-finals will take place on May 14 and 16, 2019. Sixteen countries will be eliminated. Here the acts confirmed for the competition’s semi-finals.

Jonida Maliqi for Albania

Jonida Maliqi hosted Albania’s version of Dancing with the Stars. She was one of the coaches The Voice of Albania in 2016. Maliqi won Albania’s yearly Festivali i Këngës. She will be singing Ktheju tokës in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019.

Eliot Vassamillet for Belgium

Eliot joined The Voice Belgique and will be representing Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. His entry is yet to be announced.

Srbuk for Armenia

Srbuk won the 4th place on The Voice of Ukraine. She was also a runner-up on The X Factor Armenia. Her entry has not been announced.

Tamta for Cyprus

Tamta’s entry title is Replay. She was a runner-up on Super Idol Greece and a mentor on X Factor Greece in 2016 and X Factor Georgia in 2014.

Michela Pace for Malta

Michela Pace is the winner of Malta’s X Factor contest in January 2019. Her entry is yet to be announced.

Lake Malawi for the Czech Republic

Czech indie pop Lake Malawi will sing Friend of a Friend, a song about friendship.

Duncan Laurence for The Netherlands

Duncan advanced to the semi-finals of The Voice of Holland. His entry song has not been revealed.

Sebastian Rejman and Darude for Finland

Sebastian Rejman and Darude’s entry is yet to be announced. Sebastian Rejmanm is the guitarist and singer of Finnish band The Giant Leap. Darude is a Finnish DJ who has released four studio albums.

Sergey Lazarev for Russia

Sergey represented Russia in the 2016 Eurovision contest, finishing 3rd overall. His entry has not been announced.

Tamara Todevska for Macedonia

Her entry is yet to be announced. She competed with Vrčak and Adrijan in 2008 in Eurovision but failed to advance to the final.

Serhat for San Marino

Serhat’s entry has not been revealed. He represented San Marino at Eurovision in 2016.
